The twelve zodiac signs in astrology are attached to dates that fall over the twelve months of the year and many people believe that each of the twelve zodiac signs has a different impact on a person born under that sign. Each of the different zodiac signs has a different meaning and each one is assigned one of four elements. And each zodiac sign attributes different personalities to people born under them. The different zodiac elements for the signs are:
Fire: Aries, Leo and Sagittarius
Earth: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn
Air: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius
Water: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces
Each element has different attributes that are ascribed to that zodiac sign. Then the different zodiac signs also have different visual signs. Now Gemini is a star sign Aries can get along with however Aries gets along very well with. But the perfect match for Gemini is Libra. And Libra, an air element, is supposed to be a gentle social sign and they don’t like making choices. Now Gemini get confused and can’t solve their own problems and Libra are considered highly confused and not ambitious people. So perhaps it is that confusion element that leads them together.
On the other hand Gemini does not get along with Sagittarius who is a fire element. They can adapt to change quickly and have a modern way of thinking and they move around and make new friends. So here is the case where Gemini analyzes and Sagittarius adapts to change fast and perhaps does not engage in much analysis before acting.

That is what quite a few people believe. But not just do you need to understand the zodiac signs but you also need to understand the other parts of the zodiac which includes the elements that the signs belong to. For a simple example, compatible zodiac signs might pair someone born as Aries, the Ram who is supposed to be challenging and impulsive with someone born as a Capricorn who is supposed to be ambitious and decisive. Or perhaps some born as a Libra would be a better mate because they are supposed to be negotiating and ethical. That is how you might pair people if you used the signs and their supposed dominant features. But you also have to add in the elements like earth or fire.
The four elements quickly summarized are earth which is practical, serious, stable and loyal. Fire is ambition, courage, adventure and drive. Air represents kindness, logic, clever, independence and freedom. And the final element is water which represents imagination, creativity, compassion and a nurturing nature. In theory this would mean that earth element signs should be together and the same with air elements but of course this does not remain true. So along with the zodiac sign you also need to factor in the elements.
But you then need to add all of summaries of studies that astrologists, social studies, human nature studiers and so on have developed to summarize each person’s personality to go with each zodiac sign. As an example, a Virgo, an earth element, is meant to be serving and helping and lives up to responsibilities and duties. Of course if a person is born on the cusp all this may change.
